Central Ostrobothnia DNA Project

CODNA is a website for those interested in Y-DNA and mtDNA and who have connections or is interested in genetic genealogy research in the Central Ostrobothnia region.

CODNA is also available as a group project at FamilyTreeDNA and as a general forum on Facebook.

The CODNA Y-DNA Haplotree I-N-R

The CODNA haplotree reflects an overview of the current Y-DNA results in the FTDNA project. The MRCM (most recent common mutation) IJK-L15 occurred more than 45.000 years before present somewhere in the Middle East [FTDNA Globetrekker].

The interest for the Y-DNA haplogroups in CODNA project starts about 4.500-5.000 years before present with:

CODNA Geographical Area of Interest

The project originated in research into family roots in Terjärv, a district of the Municipality of Kronoby in Ostrobothnia, but has since expanded to encompass a wider region.

The current CODNA Geographical Area of Interest covers mainly the Central Ostrobothnia region but also surrounding areas where genetic genealogy connections can be found.
